Why here

Why choose Villa & hotel photography in Canggu?

Canggu and Pererenan have more rental villas per street than almost anywhere on the island, and on the booking sites they compete on the first photo. Phone pictures make rooms look smaller and darker than they are; wide-angle lenses used badly make them look like corridors. Villa photography is a slower, more technical job: straight verticals, windows that show the garden instead of a white blaze, beds made properly, and the pool lit at twilight when the house glows from inside. The starting 30 minutes covers the rooms that sell the villa and the pool; the full set, from a walk-through with the owner to the last blue-hour frame, is booked with extra hours.

How the shoot is planned

What does the shoot in Canggu look like?

01

The route

The 30-minute session starts with a quick walk-through: which rooms sell the villa, what guests ask about, what needs hiding — cables, bins, the neighbour’s roof. Then the living area, the main bedroom and the pool in even daylight, each shot from a few heights with the lights on and the curtains set. With extra hours ($100 each) we arrive in mid-afternoon and do the full set: every room, bathrooms and the kitchen, lifestyle details — a breakfast tray by the pool, towels rolled on the loungers, a book on the daybed — the garden, the pool from the second floor and the entrance, then blue hour, when the sky outside and the lamps inside balance and the pool turns turquoise. That twilight frame is usually the listing’s cover.

02

The timing

Interiors need soft, even light, which Canggu gets from early afternoon, so a 30-minute key-rooms session fits any time after lunch. If you add the twilight frame, book the afternoon so the session ends at dusk: the blue-hour exterior only lasts about twenty minutes after sunset. Clear dry-season days from April to October are ideal, but villa shoots are less weather-sensitive than portraits — light cloud actually helps interiors. In the wet season avoid days with heavy rain forecast, since wet decks, dripping umbrellas and a grey sky hurt the exterior and pool shots. Schedule the shoot between guests, on a cleaning day, with the garden freshly cut and the pool clean.

FAQ — Villa & hotel photography in Canggu

How should the villa be prepared before the photographer arrives?

Treat it like a guest check-in, then go one step further. Beds made with fresh linen, all bulbs working and the same colour temperature, personal items and toiletries removed, cables and remotes out of sight, the pool cleaned and the garden swept. Flowers, fruit and a few styled towels help. We send a short checklist after booking, and on the day we adjust anything small ourselves.

Are 15+ photos enough for a villa listing?

For the cover and the first rows of the gallery, yes: booking platforms show the first five or six photos most. A strong listing uses twenty to thirty, so for a villa with three or four bedrooms, a twilight cover, or several villas in one complex, add an extra hour at $100 to cover every room and unit properly.

Can you also photograph the villa from the air?

Yes. A drone pass adds $150 to the villa shoot and shows what ground photos cannot: the roofline, the pool from above, how close the rice fields or beach are. Parts of the area sit under the airport’s controlled airspace, so we check each address against current rules before confirming. For a full aerial package with video, see our property drone shoot.

Can the photos be used for sales and marketing as well as rentals?

The photos are licensed for the property itself: rental listings, your website, social media, brochures and sale listings with agents. What they cannot be used for is another property, or resale to a third party as stock. If a management company runs several listings, tell us at booking so the licence covers all of the channels you use.
