How it works
From the first message to the gallery
Thirty minutes in one place goes quickly, so the spot is scouted before you arrive. If you add hours for a second place and look, the drive is the break: hang the gown in a garment bag rather than folding it, and the change happens without eating into shooting time.
- We agree the location and the outfit; for a second location or look we add extra hours ($100 each) and plan the drive between them.
- Entry fees and photo permits for each spot are listed for you before you confirm.
- The location is chosen for soft light — usually rice terraces or jungle in the morning; with extra hours, the outfit change happens on the drive.
- With more time, a coastal finish in the last light before sunset.
- 15+ edited photos, the full gallery within 7 days.

A pre-wedding photoshoot in Bali is a 30-minute session, from $590, at one location in one outfit, with 15+ edited photos delivered within seven days. The pictures are made before the wedding — for invitations, a welcome board, a slideshow at the reception or simply as a record of the two of you — so there is room to try a look without wedding-day pressure. Bali suits it because jungle, rice terraces, waterfalls, cliffs and beaches all sit within a few hours' drive. To do two of them properly, or a formal look and a relaxed one, add extra hours at $100 each.
Most sessions pick one of two settings, and with extra hours either becomes a route. In the morning, the Ubud terraces at sunrise — Tegallalang or the quieter fields nearby — while mist still hangs over the palms, or a waterfall such as Tukad Cepung, where light falls through the cave roof on dry-season mornings. In the afternoon, the Bukit: a forest or temple gate, or the Uluwatu cliffs or a beach below them for sunset. Mixing Ubud and Uluwatu in one booking wastes an hour in traffic. Beyond Bali, the caldera of Mount Bromo at dawn and the temples of Yogyakarta make strong backdrops; travel there is quoted separately.
Practicalities shape the result. A long gown on wet waterfall rocks needs a second pair of flat shoes and a little patience; the hair and makeup add-on includes touch-ups between looks. Temples require sarongs and may close to visitors during ceremonies, and entry tickets to waterfalls and terraces are not included. Aerial frames can be added with the drone add-on where flying is allowed. After the shoot, the photographer selects and edits the best frames, and 15+ edited photos arrive in a private online gallery within seven days — in time for invitations.
Before you book
Frequently asked questions: Pre-wedding photoshoot
If we add a second outfit, where do we change?
With an extra hour booked for the second look, usually in the car — book a private driver with a roomy car rather than a scooter — or in a café or villa between locations. We plan the change for the drive, so it does not eat into shooting time. A full gown creases in a humid car, so hang it in a garment bag rather than folding it, and bring a hand steamer if you have one.
Do we need permits for a pre-wedding shoot?
For some places, yes. Rice terraces and waterfalls charge an entry ticket, and several popular spots — the Handara gate in Bedugul, for example — charge a separate fee for professional pre-wedding shoots. Beach clubs and cliff venues decide for themselves. These costs are not in the price; we list them for your chosen locations before you confirm, so there is nothing to negotiate on the day.
Can we do the pre-wedding on Java, at Bromo or in Yogyakarta?
Yes. Bromo is a sunrise shoot on the crater rim and the sand sea, so the day starts around 3 am from a nearby village; it is cold up there, so bring a coat for between frames. Yogyakarta suits temples and old streets. The national park charges entry and may require a permit for commercial shoots. Travel to Java is quoted separately, since it lies outside the area booked.
