The route

Before the day you send three or four accounts or posts you like and a list of outfits; we reply with a shot list and timings. The 30-minute session covers one or two setups close together: your villa or a rented one in soft afternoon light — pool edge, daybed, a breakfast tray, details of the room — or a café and the street outside — a doorway, a scooter, a coffee in hand — or the sand at Batu Bolong or Pererenan at sunset, where the backlight gives the hair-glow and silhouette frames that perform well as covers. For the full sequence, add extra hours ($100 each): villa first, then the café street, a paddy path or a pathway lined with palms in the low sun for full-length looks that move, and the beach to finish.

The timing

Content shoots work best between mid-afternoon and sunset, roughly 3:30 to 6:30 pm: a villa setup fits the soft light early in that window, outdoor looks the golden light at the end of it. Midday is too harsh for faces and the paddies look flat. In the dry season, April to October, the late light is reliable and the sky is clear; in the wet season start earlier or plan a morning session from 7 am, since storms often roll in after 3 pm. Weekends are crowded at the cafés and beaches, so a weekday shoot gets cleaner backgrounds and fewer people to wait for.

What exactly are the vertical crops?

For each edited photo — 15+ in the starting package — you get the full frame plus a 4:5 version for the Instagram feed and a 9:16 version for stories and reel covers. We compose with those crops in mind while shooting, leaving room above and below you, so the vertical versions are deliberate rather than an automatic cut. Files come in high resolution for posting and in full size for print or collaborations.

How many outfits fit into 30 minutes?

One or two: the starting package covers 1–2 looks, and the second works best as a quick swap like a shirt or accessories. Each extra change costs about ten minutes of shooting time, so three or four looks need the extra hour ($100). Plan outfits that contrast with each other and with the background — something white for the paddies, a strong colour for the beach — and avoid fine stripes, which flicker on screens.

Can we shoot at a beach club or a villa we do not stay in?

Beach clubs in Canggu usually allow photos for guests but may require a day bed booking or minimum spend, and some ask in advance for professional shoots. A villa you do not stay in can be rented by the hour or for the afternoon; we can suggest options with photogenic pools. These costs are paid directly to the venue and are not part of the $190.

Do I own the photos for paid brand posts?

The photos are delivered for your own channels, including posts where you tag or work with a brand. If a brand plans to run the images as its own advertising — on its account, in paid ads or on packaging — tell us before the shoot so we can agree a commercial licence. That also lets us plan product shots properly instead of fitting them in at the end.
