How it works

From the first message to the gallery

A wedding of two has no schedule to protect, so it can follow the light. Half an hour is enough to say the vows and still have the golden hour to yourselves; extra hours add getting ready without rushing.

  1. Tell us where and roughly when; we help time the ceremony to the light.
  2. With an extra hour ($100), getting ready is photographed first — the rings, the details, the last few minutes before.
  3. The ceremony itself, shot quietly and from the side, so your celebrant and your vows stay the centre of it.
  4. Portraits straight afterwards, in the best light of the session.
  5. A preview within 48 hours; the full gallery of 15+ edited photos within 2–3 weeks.

Elopement photography in Bali is 30 minutes of coverage, from $890, with 15+ edited photos delivered within two to three weeks and a preview within 48 hours. Half an hour covers the heart of a small wedding: the ceremony and vows, then portraits of the two of you straight after, timed for the golden hour. Getting ready, a toast or a first dance can be added with extra hours at $100 each. With no guest list to manage, the day can be built entirely around light and place, and the photographer can follow you somewhere a hundred guests could never go.

The Bukit Peninsula is the natural setting: clifftop venues and private villas above the ocean at Uluwatu, or a quiet beach such as Nyang Nyang or Bingin below the cliffs. Ubud offers jungle villas, rice terraces and river valleys for a greener mood, and Nusa Penida adds dramatic cliffs for couples ready for an early boat. Legally marrying in Indonesia as foreigners involves a religious ceremony, civil registration and paperwork, so many couples sign at home and hold a symbolic ceremony in Bali. Celebrant, venue and decoration are booked separately.

The timeline is built backwards from sunset, which in Bali comes around six all year: vows about an hour before, portraits as the light softens. In the wet season, November to March, keep a covered plan B or move the ceremony earlier; avoid Nyepi, the Day of Silence, when the whole island shuts down. Within 48 hours of the wedding you receive a preview to share with family; the full gallery of 15+ edited photos follows within two to three weeks. A wedding film or drone frames can be added to the same day.

Frequently asked questions: Elopement photography

Is an elopement in Bali legally binding?

Only if you go through the Indonesian process, which for foreigners means a religious ceremony followed by civil registration, with translated and legalised documents. It takes weeks of paperwork, so most couples marry legally at home and hold a symbolic ceremony in Bali with a celebrant. The photographs are the same either way; a celebrant or wedding planner can confirm what applies to your nationalities.

Where can we hold the ceremony?

A villa with a view is the simplest: you control the space and the hour. Cliff-top venues in Uluwatu rent ceremony spots by the slot and charge a venue fee. Public beaches and rice fields are possible for a very small ceremony, but you will not have them to yourselves, and some landowners ask for a contribution. Temples are not wedding venues for non-Hindu ceremonies.
