In short

Villa photography in Bali costs from $290 for 30 minutes, covering the key rooms and the pool, with 15+ edited photos in 48–72 hours and a licence for listings. Each area changes the plan: rice-field context in Canggu, tight walled plots in Seminyak, early valley shade in Ubud, ocean views under hard light on the Bukit. Twilight needs extra hours.

Why here

Why choose Villa & hotel photography in Bali?

A Bali villa is sold as much on where it is as on what it is, and each area asks different things of the photographs. In Canggu and Pererenan, guests want to know how close the rice fields and the beach are, so context frames matter. In Seminyak the plots are tighter and walled, so the job is to make a compact garden and pool feel generous without lying about it. In Ubud the product is often the view — a valley, a river gorge, jungle from the bathtub — and the valley falls into shade earlier than the coast. On the Bukit the ocean view is the selling point, under hard, bright light and frequent wind. Sanur and Nusa Dua lean towards hotels and resort villas with gardens. Knowing which question your listing has to answer decides the shot list and the hour.

How the shoot is planned

What does the shoot in Bali look like?

01

The route

The 30 minutes always go to the rooms that sell the stay — the living area, the master bedroom, the bathroom if it is special — and the pool, in bright daylight. What moves is the timing. A Canggu villa with paddy views is best shot mid-morning, when the fields are bright green and the sun is behind the camera for the pool. A walled Seminyak villa is shot when the sun is high enough to reach into the garden, usually late morning to early afternoon. An Ubud valley villa is shot earlier, before the ridge behind it throws the view into shade. A Bukit villa is shot in the afternoon if it faces west, so the ocean reads blue rather than grey, and kept to the morning if the terrace faces east. With extra hours ($100 each) we add the full room set and the twilight exterior in the twenty minutes after sunset.

02

The timing

The orientation of the villa matters more than the season, so send us the map pin and which way the pool and terrace face; we pick the hour from that. The dry season, April to October, gives the most reliable skies for exteriors and the clearest ocean views on the Bukit. From November to March, mornings are the safer slot, especially in Ubud, where afternoon showers are near-daily; twilight frames need a clear evening, so we keep a second date in hand. Rice colour around Canggu and Ubud villas depends on the planting cycle — a freshly cut field next door is worth knowing about before the shoot.

FAQ — Villa & hotel photography in Bali

Can you shoot several villas in different areas on one day?

Several villas in one area, yes — each is its own booking, scheduled so each gets its best light. Villas in different areas are better split across days: Canggu to Ubud is one to one and a half hours, and an Ubud valley view wants the morning while a west-facing Bukit villa wants the afternoon. Agencies with portfolios usually batch by area.

Our Ubud villa’s view is the selling point. When should you come?

Morning, usually from about eight to eleven, while the valley is lit and before afternoon cloud builds. A misty sunrise can be beautiful for one or two hero frames, but the rooms need brighter light, so we plan the order around both. In the wet season we keep the date flexible, because a grey valley does not sell a view.

Can we add aerial photos to show how close the beach is?

Yes, with the $150 drone add-on, or book the property drone shoot if you also need a video. In Canggu, Pererenan, Ubud and most of the Bukit flying is usually possible; villas in Kuta, Jimbaran and parts of Nusa Dua and Sanur may fall inside the restricted zone around the airport. Send the pin and we check before you pay.

Does the Bukit wind or haze affect ocean-view shots?

Sometimes. On hazy days the horizon goes pale and the ocean loses colour, and strong wind ruffles the pool surface. We watch the forecast and the sky that morning, and if the view will not read, we shoot the interiors and come back for the exterior on a clearer day within the same booking window.
