How it works

From the first message to the gallery

On the day you deal with your planner, not with us: the photographer works to the timeline agreed in advance. A short shower often clears before sunset, so the portrait slot is kept flexible rather than fixed to the minute.

  1. We plan the day’s timeline with your planner around sunset, and ask your venue for its outside-vendor policy.
  2. In the wet season we agree a covered alternative and scout it on the day.
  3. 30 minutes for the ceremony and couple portraits; with extra hours ($100 each), preparations, golden-hour portraits and the reception up to the first dance.
  4. A preview within 48 hours, while your guests are still on the island.
  5. The full gallery of 15+ edited photos within 2–3 weeks.

A destination wedding photographer in Bali starts at 30 minutes, from $1,690: the ceremony moment and couple portraits straight after, with 15+ edited photos delivered within two to three weeks and a preview within 48 hours. Most couples extend it to the full wedding with extra hours at $100 each: preparations for both of you, the ceremony, family and group portraits, a portrait session for the couple at golden hour, the reception, speeches and the first dance. The photographer speaks English and Russian, which helps when guests and families come from different countries, and works from a timeline agreed with you and your planner before the day.

Venue sets the frame. Uluwatu and the rest of the Bukit have clifftop chapels and villas above the ocean with the sunset in front of them; Jimbaran and Nusa Dua have beach resorts with space for larger groups; Ubud has jungle venues with river valleys and rice fields for a greener day; Seminyak and Canggu suit beach-club receptions. The dry season, roughly April to October, brings the most settled weather, and popular venues for those months book well ahead. In the wet season, afternoon storms are common, so ceremonies move earlier or under cover.

A few details make the day easier to photograph. Schedule the ceremony so the couple portraits fall in the last hour before sunset, around six in Bali all year, and give family photos a named helper with a list. Avoid Nyepi, the Day of Silence, when the island shuts down. Drone frames of the venue can be added where the venue allows and the area is not a no-fly zone near the airport. A preview arrives within 48 hours for sharing; the full gallery of 15+ edited photos follows within two to three weeks. The wedding film can be booked alongside.

Before you book

Frequently asked questions: Destination wedding photographer

Does our venue charge for an outside photographer?

Some do. A number of Bali resorts and wedding venues charge an outside-vendor fee for photographers they do not work with, and it is set by the venue, not by us. Ask your venue or planner for the vendor policy before you book, and send it to us. The fee, if there is one, is not included in the price; if you add hours for a full day, meals for the photographer are usually arranged by the planner.

What is the rain plan in the wet season?

Between November and March, plan the ceremony for the morning or have a covered alternative agreed with the venue — afternoon storms are common and can last an hour or two. We scout the covered area on the day so the backup is not an afterthought. A short shower often clears before sunset and leaves the best sky of the day, so we keep the shoot slot flexible.

Can you photograph a Balinese blessing as part of the wedding?

Yes, with the priest’s permission, which your planner arranges. You will wear a sarong and sash, and the photographer does too. We shoot from the side and at a distance during the prayers, do not use flash, and never stand higher than the priest or step over offerings. Some priests restrict photography during parts of the ritual; we follow what they say.
