The route
We start at the top of the beach, filming you arriving through the trees onto the sand — the opening shot of the film. Then the camera stays mostly in motion: walking beside you along the waterline, tracking low as you wade in up to the knees, circling slowly while you sit on the bow of a beached boat. A clip-on microphone records whatever you say to each other, without any script, and a second recorder picks up the waves and the boats for the soundscape. As the sun lowers, we film the slow material: silhouettes against the bay, hands, a forehead kiss in the last direct light. The final minutes are for the vertical teaser, framed on purpose rather than cropped later. With an extra hour, we start earlier at a clifftop on the same coast for the wide establishing shots.
