The route
The videographer arrives early enough to mic you both before anyone is in place and to test the sound against the wind at the actual spot. The ceremony is filmed on two angles: a wide, fixed camera that holds the scene — the two of you, the celebrant, the sea behind — and a moving one for faces, hands and the rings. Audio runs separately on each microphone, so if a gust takes one line, the other usually saves it. The moment the vows end, we keep rolling through the first kiss, the hugs and the first walk as a married couple. The remaining minutes go on a short sequence of the two of you alone on the cliff, filmed slowly for the film’s ending. With extra hours, we add preparations, the reception and the speeches, which give a full-day film its story.
