Why here
Why choose Wedding film in Uluwatu?
Clifftop ceremonies in Uluwatu look effortless on film, and almost nobody sees what makes them hard: the place is loud. Surf breaks against the cliff seventy metres below, the sea breeze crosses the lawn, a sound system plays the processional, and the celebrant is speaking into the wind. Promises said quietly to each other are what a ceremony film is for, so on the Bukit the job starts with sound. The 30-minute starting coverage is built around the vows: separate microphones on whoever is speaking, a recorder near the celebrant, cameras placed so that the ocean is behind you and the light comes from the side. The result is a short film in which every word is heard — and then the sunset, the kiss and the walk back down the aisle.
How the shoot is planned
What does the shoot in Uluwatu look like?
01
The route
The videographer arrives before the guests are seated to fit microphones — one on the groom or the partner waiting at the front, one on the celebrant — and to set a static camera at the end of the aisle facing the ocean. We record a few seconds of the venue’s ambient sound and the wind to clean the audio later. The processional is filmed from the front, then we move to the side for the vows, where a long lens catches faces without blocking any guest’s view. Rings, the kiss, the recessional, the first hugs — then the last minutes are yours alone at the cliff edge for a short, slow sequence in the light. With extra hours we start with preparations and stay through the speeches and first dance, and the film grows to tell the whole day.
02
The timing
Most Uluwatu venues set the ceremony to finish about half an hour before sunset, so the vows are in warm side-light and the portraits that follow are in the golden hour. Sunset moves between roughly 6 and 6:45 pm through the year, and we confirm the exact time for your date. The dry season, April to October, is the most reliable and the windiest — good for veils on camera, harder for sound. In the wet season storms usually pass within an hour; venues have covered spaces, where acoustics are easier but light is lower. Teasers arrive within a week, which suits couples who want to share something before they fly home.

What does the package include?
The Wedding film package in Uluwatu covers: A 2–3 minute ceremony film; the full day with extra hours; A 30-second teaser within 1 week; Vows recorded on separate microphones; Licensed music and colour grading; Full film within 4–6 weeks. Nothing is added to the price after the shoot. 01What happens to the vows if the wind is very strong?
The clip-on microphones are close to the mouth and fitted with fur wind covers, so they still record clearly when the camera’s own sound is useless. We also position the speakers with their backs to the wind when the venue layout allows. In a worst case, the audio is cleaned in editing using the ambient sample we recorded beforehand.
02Can the film include aerial shots of the clifftop venue?
Often, by booking a Drone video alongside the film. Two things decide it: the venue has to allow drones during the ceremony, and it has to sit outside restricted airspace. Most clifftop venues around Uluwatu and Ungasan are outside the zone around Ngurah Rai airport, while some towards Jimbaran are not. We check your venue before confirming, and never fly over the temple.
03Do Uluwatu venues charge a fee for an outside videographer?
Some do, and the fee for video is sometimes separate from the one for photography. It is set and collected by the venue, not by us, and is not part of the $1,490. Tell us the venue when you enquire and we will check whether a fee applies and whether we have filmed there before.
04Why does the full film take 4–6 weeks?
Because the ceremony film is edited around your words, which means transcribing the vows, syncing several audio sources, cleaning wind and surf, grading every shot and licensing music that fits. The teaser comes first, within a week, so you have something to share. If you add a full day of coverage, the film grows and the timing stays within the same window.
