The route
We arrive about forty-five minutes before sunset, which leaves time to walk up the loose path in flat shoes and pick a stretch of ridge away from other visitors. The half hour runs in three movements. First, side light: the sun is still above the islands, so we place you on the shoulder of the hill with the bay to one side and shoot close — foreheads together, a hand at the back of the neck, the small gestures that need warm light on faces. Second, the ridge line as the sun touches the horizon: wider frames, the two of you walking along the crest, then standing still as silhouettes against the sky. Third, the ten minutes after sunset, when the light turns pink and violet over the islands and skin goes soft; this is where the quiet, close portraits of the gallery usually come from. Swap into heels or a better shirt at the top, not on the path.
