Why here

Why choose Villa & hotel photography in Jakarta?

There are few villas in Jakarta in the Bali sense, so this page is really about what the city rents out: serviced apartments in Sudirman and Kuningan towers, boutique hotels and guesthouses in old Menteng houses, family homes with gardens and pools in Kemang, and short-stay units whose main selling point is the view. Each has a different photographic problem. Tower apartments live or die by the window — a white blown-out rectangle loses the skyline guests are paying for, so every interior here is shot as blended exposures that hold both the room and the city. Heritage guesthouses need their character — tiles, shutters, high ceilings — without looking dark. Kemang houses need the garden and pool to read as a retreat from the traffic outside. The service is the same as anywhere: the rooms that sell the listing, shot properly, with a licence to use them everywhere.

How the shoot is planned

What does the shoot in Jakarta look like?

01

The route

Before the day we agree a shot list with you: for a one-bedroom apartment, typically the living room with the view, the bedroom, the kitchen, the bathroom, and the building’s pool or gym; for a guesthouse, the façade, two room types, the common area and the breakfast spot. On arrival we walk through once with you and adjust — open curtains, lights on, cushions straight, cables out of sight. Then each room is shot from the corner that shows its size honestly, at standing height, with several exposures merged so the window holds the city. The pool comes last before the sun gets high. If you book the extra hour, we return to the strongest room at dusk: the lamps inside balanced against the blue sky and the lit towers outside, which is the single image most Jakarta apartment listings are missing.

02

The timing

Interiors are shot in the morning, roughly 8:00 to 10:00, when daylight is bright but not yet hard and the city through the window is clear. Pools face whichever way the building allows; most look best before mid-morning, when the water is calm and there are no harsh shadows. The twilight set falls in the twenty minutes after sunset, around 18:00 to 18:30 all year. The dry season, May to October, brings haze that can wash out the view; after rain in the wet season, the skyline is often sharp, so for a view-led listing we watch the forecast and keep the date flexible. Weekday mornings avoid guests and housekeeping in shared areas.

Before you book

FAQ — Villa & hotel photography in Jakarta

Do we need building management approval to shoot an apartment?

Often, yes. Many Jakarta towers require the owner or agent to register a photographer at reception, and shared facilities such as the pool or sky lounge may need separate approval or a booking. Please arrange this before the day and give us the contact name; a stop at the security desk can otherwise take half the session.

Can you add aerial photos of the property?

For a tower apartment, no — and much of central Jakarta is restricted airspace anyway. For a house or guesthouse outside restricted zones, the $150 drone add-on may be possible with the owner’s consent; we check the address before booking. Often a frame from a neighbouring rooftop or upper floor gives the context you need without a drone.

Is 30 minutes enough for a whole guesthouse?

It is enough for the core of a listing: the key rooms and the pool or common space, delivered as 15+ edited photos. A guesthouse with several room types, a restaurant and a garden needs more — usually one or two extra hours at $100 each. We estimate from your floor plan and shot list before you book, so the time matches the job.

Can we use the photos on booking platforms and in ads?

Yes. The licence covers your listings, your website and your social media, including paid posts promoting the property. If an agency or developer wants to use the images in a wider campaign or print, tell us when booking so the licence is written to match.
