The route
Take the Menteng walk as the example. We meet at a corner café around 6:30 and start right there: the two of you at a pavement table, then stepping out together. From there it is a slow loop on foot. The first stretch is under the trees, walking side by side and talking rather than posing, with the photographer ahead or across the road. Then we stop at a veranda or a pale garden wall for closer frames — a forehead touch, a laugh, a hand on a shoulder — choosing walls that are public and not someone’s doorstep. Taman Suropati comes last: its benches, the shade, sometimes musicians practising. At PIK the shape is different — a walk along the waterfront towards the sun, ending with silhouettes as it touches the bay — and on Sudirman it is a bridge, the avenue below and the city switching on.
