The route
We plan the film like a short sequence rather than a flight. Before the day, the pilot sends two or three possible sites with sample frames and asks what you want the edit to show — the two of you, a surf session, or just the coastline. On location, the first minutes are an establishing shot: the drone rising from behind you to reveal the beach, the river mouth and the line of surf. Then tracking shots, flown low and parallel as you walk or run along the waterline, and a top-down pass while you lie in the shallow wash. The final minutes are for the orbit — a slow circle around you with the setting sun sweeping through the frame — which usually becomes the closing shot of the edit. The raw clips are delivered alongside it.
