The route
A Sekotong flight starts at a launch point on the coast before sunrise, so the drone is up as the light arrives. The first move is the opener — a low, slow push across flat water towards the islets, rising as they come into view. The second is an orbit around the smallest islet, wide enough to show the ring of turquoise around the sand. If you are in the film, a third move follows you walking or swimming, from directly overhead and then pulling back until you disappear into the scale of the sea. The last minutes of battery go on a high, static wide of the whole group of islands with the Lombok hills behind. Every move is flown two or three times for a clean take. On the south coast the same logic applies to Mawun’s ridge and bay.
