Why here
Why choose Family photoshoot in Seminyak?
Seminyak is the easy choice for families: flat, wide sand without cliffs or long staircases, villas a few minutes from the beach, and sunsets that start early enough for small children. A family session here is built around the kids rather than around poses. Toddlers get to dig, older children get to run into the shallows, and parents get photos where everyone is actually in the frame for once. Thirty minutes on the beach in the golden light is short enough that nobody gets tired or bored; starting at the villa first, where children are relaxed, is the extra hour.
How the shoot is planned
What does the shoot in Seminyak look like?
01
The route
We meet on the beach about forty minutes before sunset, when children have had their nap and a snack. With an extra hour ($100) we start at your villa instead, by the pool or on the terrace — feet in the water, a cuddle on a daybed, the little ones getting used to the photographer — and then everyone walks or drives a few minutes to the sand. At Petitenget the sand is wide and quieter; Double Six has more people but a long open stretch at low tide. We play rather than pose — piggyback races, chasing waves, drawing in the sand — and gather for a couple of whole-family frames when the light is best. The last minutes are for each parent with each child.
02
The timing
The sunset session works for most families, since the beach light is warm and sunset in Seminyak comes between about 6 and 6:45 pm through the year. If your children go to bed early or melt down by late afternoon, a morning session from 7 am gives soft light, cool sand and a nearly empty beach. The dry season from April to October is the most reliable. In the wet season afternoons can bring heavy showers and the sea washes debris onto the sand, which is usually cleared by morning. Check the tide: low water gives more beach and safer shallows for small children.
What’s included
What does the package include?
The Family photoshoot package in Seminyak covers: 15+ edited photos; One location near your stay — a beach, a garden or your villa; Start time planned around naps and the heat; Group portraits plus unposed moments of play; Private online gallery within 48–72 hours. Nothing is added to the price after the shoot. Permits worth knowing about: Potato Head Beach Club — professional shoots need the venue's approval in advance and may carry a fee or minimum spend.
01What should a family wear for a beach shoot in Seminyak?
Coordinate, do not match: pick two or three colours that sit well together — white, sand, sage, soft blue — and spread them across the family rather than putting everyone in identical outfits. Avoid big logos and neon. Light cotton and linen work best in the heat. Children should wear something they can get wet and sandy, and it is worth packing a spare set and a towel in the car.
02Our toddler will not sit still. Is that a problem?
Not at all; the session is planned for it. Photographers who shoot families in Seminyak are used to children who wander, cry or refuse to look at the camera. We follow the child, shoot in short bursts and use games to get the whole family together for a few seconds at a time. Bring their favourite snack and a toy, and let us handle the rest.
03Can the shoot take place at our hotel?
Usually, yes. Villas are straightforward, since the space is yours for the stay. Some larger beachfront hotels in Seminyak ask outside photographers to register at reception or charge a fee for shooting on their grounds, so let us know where you are staying and we will check in advance. If the hotel says no, the public beach in front of it is always available.
04How much does a family photoshoot in Seminyak cost for a large group?
The $180 price covers one family, including grandparents, for 30 minutes and 15+ photos. For two or three related families who want individual groups as well as one big photo, add an extra hour for $100 so each family gets proper time. A drone pass for a big group picture on the sand is $150, and a short vertical reel of the session is $110.
