Why choose Honeymoon photoshoot in Lombok?

On most honeymoons that include Lombok, it is the quiet chapter: after the energy of Bali and before or after the Gilis, a few days in a villa on a hill with the sea below. That is the honeymoon we photograph here. The session is thirty minutes and starts where you already are — a pool terrace, a bedroom opening onto the view, the private path down to the beach — because the point of these days is not getting back into a car. Lombok’s south-west adds one option Bali cannot: the scattered islets off Sekotong, small enough to walk around, reached by a short boat ride from the coast. With an extra hour that becomes the second location, and you get honeymoon photographs on a sandbank with nobody else on it. If your Lombok stay is short, we still keep it simple; one well-lit place beats three rushed ones.

What does the shoot in Lombok look like?

The route

The villa version begins about forty minutes before sunset. We start indoors while the light through the shutters is still warm — the two of you on the daybed, coffee on the terrace, details of the room — then move to the pool edge as the sky colours, and walk down to the sand for the last frames. The Sekotong version is a morning: we meet at the jetty around 7, cross to a tiny islet such as Gili Kedis, and shoot while the sandbar is still empty and the water around it is clear enough to show the coral from above. Snorkelling gear in the frame is welcome. The boat back is timed so you are home before the heat. Want flowing fabric on the sandbar? The flying-dress rental ($120) works well here.

The timing

For villa sessions, the last forty minutes before sunset are the slot, around 5.15 to 6 pm. For the Sekotong islands, mornings win: the sea is calmer, the light over the shallows is clean, and you avoid the midday glare on white sand. Honeymoons cluster in the dry season, April to October, which also brings the clearest water. The wet season makes the hills behind the villas lush and empties the coast, but boats may be cancelled on rough days, so we keep the villa as a fallback. If your dates fall in Ramadan, the coast is quieter still; just expect some village warungs to open only after sunset.

Should we do the honeymoon shoot on Lombok or the Gilis?

It depends on the look. The Gilis give you a tiny-island, bicycle-and-turquoise feel with Lombok’s mountains across the water. Lombok gives height, empty bays and villa privacy. Many couples book one session in each place on different days; the photographer’s crossing is covered by the island-transfer add-on ($90).

How much does the boat to the Sekotong islands cost?

It is not part of our price. Boatmen on the Sekotong coast charter by the trip, and the fare depends on the boat, the number of islands and your bargaining; we tell you a realistic range before the day. Islet landing fees, where they exist, are a few thousand rupiah and also paid on the spot.

Is a shoot inside our villa too private to be comfortable?

You set the line. Most couples choose linen, a robe or swimwear and a few relaxed in-bed frames; nothing is shot that you have not agreed to beforehand. We ask villa staff to give the terrace a quiet half hour. On Lombok, discretion is also a courtesy to the village next door.

Can we get the photos before we fly home?

The gallery arrives within 48–72 hours, usually while you are still travelling. If Lombok is your last stop and you fly the next day, the express add-on ($50) delivers within 24 hours.
