Why here
Why choose Honeymoon photoshoot in Ubud?
Ubud is where honeymooners come to slow down: villas over the Ayung river gorge, infinity pools looking into the jungle, breakfast brought to the terrace and nowhere to be until dinner. A honeymoon session here is quieter than a beach shoot and more personal. It can happen where you are staying, because that is the place you will remember, or on the ridges and paddy paths just outside, where you can walk without anyone around. The 30-minute session takes one of them; an extra hour ($100) gives time for both, at an unhurried pace that suits two people who have just got married.
How the shoot is planned
What does the shoot in Ubud look like?
01
The route
The villa version is slow and close, in the last half hour of soft afternoon light: coffee on the terrace, the two of you at the edge of the pool with the jungle below, a few frames getting ready to go out. With an extra hour ($100) we start earlier and then drive a short way to a ridge path — the Campuhan Ridge Walk, or the quieter tracks above Sayan — where the grass is long and the light comes in low across the valley. That longer version ends on a paddy path at the edge of the village as the sun sets, with farmers heading home and the fields turning gold. If your villa has a floating breakfast or flower bath, we can shoot that the next morning instead.
02
The timing
Late afternoon to sunset is the most comfortable slot for a honeymoon session: the heat has eased, the villa is in soft shade, and the ridges glow. The Campuhan ridge is busiest at sunrise and at sunset, so we use it in the hour before the crowd and move on. From April to October afternoons are mostly dry. In the wet season, November to March, Ubud often gets a heavy shower around 3–4 pm — then we shoot the villa first under cover and go out once it clears, when the air is fresh and the jungle steams in the low light.
What’s included
What does the package include?
The Honeymoon photoshoot package in Ubud covers: 15+ edited photos; One location — your villa, resort or a spot nearby; A second location or an outfit change with the extra-hour add-on; Start time planned for the light on your date; Private online gallery within 48–72 hours. Nothing is added to the price after the shoot. Permits worth knowing about: Tegallalang Rice Terrace — entry around IDR 25,000, plus small donations at farmer checkpoints on the paths; swings are extra; Tibumana Waterfall — entry around IDR 20,000; a short stepped path through jungle; Kanto Lampo Waterfall — entry around IDR 15,000–20,000; sarongs are not needed; Sayan Ridge & Ayung Valley — depends on the villa or venue; many allow guests' shoots, some charge a location fee.
01Can you photograph a floating breakfast or flower bath at our villa?
Yes, and they are among the most requested honeymoon frames in Ubud. The villa arranges and charges for the breakfast or bath itself; we photograph it. Because both are best in morning light, the 30-minute session can simply move to the morning; if you want the sunset too, we add an extra hour ($100) and split the time between morning and evening. Tell the villa the time in advance so it is ready when we arrive.
02What should we wear for a honeymoon shoot in Ubud?
For the villa, something soft and relaxed works well — linen, a silk slip dress, a loose shirt; for a ridge walk, something a little more dressed (bring both if you add an extra hour for both places), in colours that stand out against green, such as white, cream, terracotta or dusty rose. Avoid green and khaki, which disappear into the landscape. Shoes you can walk a dirt path in matter more than heels.
03Can we add the rice terraces or a waterfall?
Yes, with an extra hour for $100, since the famous spots are twenty to forty minutes from most villas and need a sunrise start to avoid queues. Tegallalang and the waterfalls charge a small entry fee paid on the day. For a honeymoon we often suggest the quieter terraces or a ridge instead: you get the same green landscape without sharing it with a tour group.
04Does the honeymoon photoshoot price change in the wet season?
No, it is $220 all year. What changes is the planning: from November to March we keep the villa part flexible so it can move around a shower, and if rain sets in for the evening, the session moves to another day of your stay without charge. Wet-season Ubud has the greenest fields and the most atmospheric skies, so many couples are glad they waited out the rain.
