The route
The ceremony is set on the foredeck, facing the bow, so the islands sit behind the celebrant and the two of you stand in profile to the low sun. Before you come up from the cabin, we agree with the captain to cut the engine and the music; the anchor chain and the water against the hull are the only sounds. The half hour begins with the walk along the deck — short, but it is the processional — then the vows, rings and kiss, shot from two positions: wide from the upper deck to show the boat alone in the bay, and close from the side for your faces. Straight after, while the light is still warm, ten minutes of portraits at the bow and on the sun deck. With extra hours, we start earlier with the getting-ready in the cabin and the details on deck, and finish with the tender ride to a beach near the anchorage for portraits on the sand as the sky turns pink.
