The route
The half hour is built around the ceremony itself. The photographer arrives fifteen minutes early to read the light in the room or garden, agree with your celebrant where they can and cannot stand, and photograph the setting before anyone sits down — the chairs, the flowers, the table with the rings. Then the ceremony: wide frames to show who was there, close ones for the exchange of vows, and the reactions of parents in the front row, which are often the photos families treasure most. Straight after, while everyone is still emotional, ten minutes of portraits of the two of you in the nearest good light — a doorway, a window, a garden wall. With an extra hour we begin earlier with getting ready at the hotel, or finish with a slow walk down a Menteng street in your wedding clothes as the city winds down.
