## In short

Villa photography in Uluwatu costs from $290 for 30 minutes, covering the key interiors and the pool with 15+ edited photos delivered in 48–72 hours, licensed for listings, your website and social media. Ocean-facing villas are shot rooms-first in the morning; a twilight exterior is added with extra hours at $100 each.

On the Bukit, the view is what guests are paying for, and it is also what makes a villa hard to photograph. Many Uluwatu villas sit on the cliff or high on the Ungasan and Pecatu plateau, with walls of glass facing west towards the ocean. In the afternoon that means interiors fighting a bright window and a sun pouring straight in; at midday the pool deck is bleached flat. So the shoot is planned around the orientation of your property: rooms in the morning, when the ocean side is in shade and the sea outside the window is blue rather than white, and the pool and terrace later, as the light turns warm. Blended exposures keep the view visible through every window — the single thing that sells a cliff villa on a listing.

## How the shoot is planned

We agree a shot list beforehand from your listing: usually the living area with the view, the master bedroom, one more bedroom, a bathroom and the pool. On the day the photographer walks the villa with you first, then works room by room with the doors and curtains opened to the ocean, using bracketed exposures that are blended so the sea outside the glass stays blue. The 30 minutes go mostly indoors and finish with the pool from the terrace corner that shows the view behind it. With extra hours we come back in the late afternoon for the pool and outdoor lounge in warm light, then stay for the twenty minutes after sunset when the villa lights glow against a deep blue sky — the cover image most cliff villas end up using.

## Timing

For a west-facing villa, start interiors between about 8 and 10 am; east-facing or garden-view villas can be shot later. Twilight exteriors happen in a short window after sunset, around 6:15 to 7 pm depending on the month. Season matters on the Bukit more than elsewhere in Bali: in the late dry season, around September and October, lawns and gardens on the limestone can look parched, while from January to April they are at their greenest. Book after any landscaping work and on a day with the villa empty of guests — a changeover day is ideal.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can you add aerial photos of our cliff villa?

Yes, with the drone add-on ($150), usually flown from the garden. Most villas in Uluwatu, Pecatu and Ungasan are outside the restricted airspace around Ngurah Rai airport; properties towards Jimbaran and parts of Nusa Dua may not be, so send us the map pin first. If you also need an aerial video, the Property drone shoot covers both.

### How do you photograph the ocean view through windows?

Each frame is shot at several exposures — one for the room, one for the view — and blended by hand in editing, so the interior looks natural and the sea is still blue rather than a white rectangle. Clean glass helps a great deal; ask your staff to wipe windows and pool fences the morning of the shoot.

### Does 30 minutes cover a whole five-bedroom villa?

No — it covers the core of a listing: the hero living space, the best bedroom or two, a bathroom and the pool. Larger villas need extra hours ($100 each) to photograph every room and the details guests look for, such as the kitchen, the gym or a cliff-edge lounge. We estimate the time from your floor plan when you enquire.

### Can we use the photos on booking platforms and in ads?

Yes. The licence covers your listings on booking platforms, your own website and your social media, including paid promotion of the villa. If a property manager or agency will also use them, tell us at booking so they are named in the licence. The photographer keeps the right to show a few frames in our portfolio unless you ask us not to.
