Many south-coast properties sit on hillsides above Kuta, Selong Belanak or Sekotong, where the reason to book is the sea framed by the living room — and phone photos turn that window into a white rectangle. Fixing that is the core of the job: every interior is shot as blended exposures, so the room and the bay beyond the glass are both correctly exposed. ## How the shoot is planned

Before arrival, the villa should be listing-ready: beds made tight, cushions plumped, personal items and cleaning gear out of sight, pool skimmed. We start with a walk-through against the agreed shot list and decide the order by the sun. The hero frame — living area opening onto the pool and the bay — goes first while the outside light is soft enough to balance with the interior. Then the pool from its far corner, looking back at the house, and from the house looking out. The master bedroom with its view follows, then the kitchen or dining area, which often sells the stay to families. Every frame is bracketed on a tripod for blending. With extra hours we continue to the remaining bedrooms and bathrooms, details for social media, and the twilight exterior as the pool lights come on.

## Timing

Lombok sits about 8.5 degrees south of the equator, which shapes the light more than people expect. From roughly April to August the midday sun stands in the northern sky, so a south-facing sea view is lit from behind the camera, which is ideal, while north-facing terraces take direct sun; from about November to February the sun passes almost overhead and then slightly south, and a south-facing view can turn to glare around midday. We check your villa’s orientation on the map and schedule the main rooms for when the view side is not in glare, typically mid-morning or late afternoon. Season matters as well: late in the dry season the hills behind a villa turn brown, while gardens and lawns look their best just after the rains, so many owners book in April or May.

### Our villa is in Sekotong. Is travel included?

The price includes travel within the area booked. Sekotong and Senggigi are separate areas from the south coast, so send us the address first; we confirm the plan and any travel cost before you book, never on the day.

### Can you show how close the villa is to the beach?

From the ground, only partly. The drone add-on ($150) gives aerial frames of the roofline, the pool and the distance to the bay, where airspace allows — parts of the south coast are near Lombok airport. For a fuller aerial package with video, see our property drone service.

### Can we use the photos on booking platforms and our own website?

Yes. The licence covers your listings on any booking platform, your own website and your social media. If a management company or a sales agent will use them too, tell us at booking and we name them in the licence.

### Should guests or staff appear in the photos?

A few lifestyle frames with people — breakfast on the terrace, someone in the pool — help a listing feel alive. Use your own friends or staff with their consent, or book a holiday-style shoot separately. Hair and make-up ($90) is available if you plan lifestyle frames.
