A solo travel photoshoot is 30 minutes with a photographer at one spot in the part of Bali you choose, from $140, with 15+ edited photos of you delivered online within 48–72 hours. It solves the problem every solo traveller knows: thousands of photos of the trip and almost none with you in them, apart from selfies at arm's length. The photographer speaks English and Russian, directs poses for people who are not used to a camera, and meets you at an agreed point — a café in Canggu, your guesthouse in Ubud, a beach on the Bukit Peninsula.

For a first session Ubud works well: rice terraces at Tegallalang or the quieter fields around Penestanan, jungle paths and carved stone gates within a short drive. Tegallalang gets busy from mid-morning, so a start around six gives you the terraces with mist and few people. If you prefer the ocean, the Uluwatu cliffs and the beaches below them suit late afternoon, and at Batu Bolong in Canggu the sunset comes with surfers and silhouettes. In the wet season, November to March, we book mornings, which are usually clearer than afternoons.

Meeting a stranger abroad is a fair concern when you travel alone. You get the photographer's name and contact before the date, and the meeting point is always public or at your accommodation. Half an hour suits one outfit; if you want variety, an extra hour ($100) fits a change without rushing. The edited gallery arrives within 48–72 hours; if you are moving on to the Gili Islands or Nusa Penida the next morning, an express 24-hour delivery can be added so the photos reach you before the ferry does.

### I have never had a photoshoot and feel awkward. How does it go?

The first few minutes are walking and talking while the camera warms up with you, not at you. Then the photographer gives simple, physical instructions — weight on the back foot, look at the water, walk towards the tree — rather than asking you to “be natural”. Most of the frames people like best come once you have relaxed, so if you know you thaw slowly, add an extra hour and the session runs longer.

### Where do we meet if I am travelling alone?

Wherever you are comfortable: your hotel lobby, a café or the entrance to the spot. Before the day you get the photographer’s name and WhatsApp number, and the whole route is agreed in writing, so you can share it with someone at home. We do not move anywhere you have not agreed to, and the shoot stays in public places unless you ask otherwise.
