## In short

A property drone shoot in Ubud costs from $390 for 30 minutes of flying: 15+ edited aerial photos within 48–72 hours and a 30–60 second aerial video within 5–7 days, licensed for marketing. We show the roof, pool, plot and access, plus context — fields, gorge, distance to town. Airspace is checked for your address first.

Buyers and guests looking at property around Ubud ask questions a ground-level photo cannot answer. How far is it from the main road? Is the access a proper lane or a footpath along a paddy dyke? What is actually on the other side of the wall — rice fields, a river gorge, a neighbouring villa? How close is town? A drone answers all of that in a few frames, and for land plots it is often the only way to show the shape and setting of the site. Ubud is well outside the airport’s restricted airspace, so flying is usually possible; what needs care is the neighbourhood, because almost every property here sits beside fields, other villas and a village or family temple.

## How the shoot is planned

You send the map pin and, for land, the corner points of the plot. The pilot arrives in the morning, walks the boundary with you or your agent, and notes anything nearby to avoid — a family shrine, a temple, neighbours with guests at the pool. The 30 minutes follow a buyer’s questions in order. First the property itself: a straight-down frame of the roof, pool and garden, then three-quarter views from each side at different heights. Then the access: the lane from the main road, flown along at low height so the width and surface are honest. Then context: a high frame showing the plot against the rice fields or the gorge, and a long view towards central Ubud or a known landmark. The video is a single continuous approach and reveal, cut to 30–60 seconds.

## Timing

Mid-morning, roughly 8 to 10, works best: the sun is high enough to light into the gorge and between the palms, shadows are short enough not to hide the roof, and fewer neighbours’ guests are outside. Late afternoon can give warmer light but more people at pools. The dry season, April to October, brings clearer air and more reliable mornings. In the wet season, haze and showers are common after midday, so we start early and reschedule if rain sets in. If the surrounding fields are part of the selling point, it can be worth timing the flight for when they are green rather than just harvested.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can you show the access path honestly?

Yes, and we recommend it. Many Ubud villas are reached by a narrow lane or a path along the fields, and guests who discover that on arrival leave bad reviews. A low flight along the access shows the width, the surface and the walk from the car. It sets expectations, and for buyers it is often the first question.

### Can you mark the plot boundaries on the photos?

We can add an outline from the corner points you give us, and it is useful to place small flags or markers at the corners on the day so they show in the frame. We photograph the land; we do not survey or certify boundaries. For a sale, the official certificate and survey remain the reference.

### There is a temple next to our property. Can you still fly?

Usually yes, around the property, with care. We do not fly over the temple itself, we keep a respectful distance, and if a ceremony is on we wait for another day. Frames are composed so the temple does not dominate. If your banjar has its own rules about drones, we follow them; asking the village head is often a good idea.

### Can we use the footage for a sale listing and investors?

Yes. The photos and video come with a licence to market the property — rental and sale listings, your website, social media, investor decks and brochures. If an agency or developer will reuse them on other projects, tell us when you book and we include that. We do not advise on zoning or permits; that belongs with your notary or agent.
