## In short

A honeymoon photoshoot in Bali costs from $220 for 30 minutes, with 15+ edited photos in 48–72 hours. On a split trip, shoot at the stay you care most about: an Ubud jungle villa in the morning or a Bukit cliff villa at sunset. A second setting nearby is an extra hour ($100); the other half is a second session.

Most honeymoons in Bali are split: a few nights in a jungle villa near Ubud, then the coast — a cliff villa on the Bukit, a resort in Nusa Dua or Jimbaran, sometimes a hop to the Gilis. The photographs are usually best where you spent the most on the room, because that is the place you will want to remember and the setting is already private. An Ubud villa gives the valley view, the pool over the jungle, a floating breakfast in the morning light. A Bukit villa gives an infinity edge and the sunset over open ocean. A Nusa Dua resort gives gardens and a calm sunrise beach. So the planning question is which of your two or three stays should host the session, and on which day of it — not which famous viewpoint to drive to.

## How the shoot is planned

At an Ubud villa the session is slow and early: the floating breakfast or the first coffee on the terrace around eight, before the pool is in full sun, then the two of you at the edge looking over the valley. With an extra hour we walk to a ridge or a field path nearby. At a Bukit cliff villa it runs in the last hour of the day: the lawn or infinity edge with the ocean behind you, then — if the villa has a path or there is a beach close by — the water as the sun sets. At a Nusa Dua or Jimbaran resort we use the grounds where the resort allows it, and the beach in front at sunrise or sunset depending on which way it faces. Wherever we shoot, the photographer keeps a distance for the quieter moments and steps in only to direct.

## Timing

Shoot early in whichever stay you choose, ideally on the second day: you have settled in, any jet lag has eased, and the villa staff know you, so breakfast or a flower bath can be arranged without fuss. Ubud mornings are the best light and the most reliable in the wet season, when afternoon showers are common inland. Bukit evenings are dependable from April to October and still good in the wet season, which is gentler on the peninsula than in the hills. If you are going on to the Gilis, remember they are reached by fast boat and crossings are sometimes cancelled in rough sea — do the Bali half first.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can one photographer cover both halves of our trip?

Yes, as two separate sessions — one in Ubud, one on the coast — each from $220 with its own 15+ photo gallery. Booking both with us means the same style across both galleries, and you are already relaxed with the camera by the second. Tell us your dates and villas, and we plan the times around light and your transfer day.

### Our resort is in Nusa Dua. Is it a good place for photos?

Yes, with two things to know. Some Nusa Dua resorts ask for notice or charge a fee for outside photographers, so check with the front desk first. And the area is inside the restricted airspace around the airport, so a drone is usually not an option there. The beaches face east, so sunrise is the soft, empty hour.

### Should we do the shoot on Bali or on the Gilis?

The Gilis give a very different gallery — no cars, bicycles, white sand and turquoise shallows — but they add the $90 island transfer and depend on the boats. If the Gilis are the highlight of the honeymoon, shoot there; if they are a few nights at the end, Bali is easier to plan and to reschedule.

### Is it worth leaving the villa for a famous spot?

Only if it is close. A ridge walk or a field path ten minutes from an Ubud villa, or a cove below a Bukit villa, adds variety for the price of an extra hour. A two-hour drive to Lempuyang or Nusa Penida turns a relaxed honeymoon morning into a tour, and the frames are shared with a queue. Most couples prefer their own view.
