## In short

Drone video on Lombok costs from $320 for 30 minutes of flying with a licensed pilot, usually over a south-coast bay such as Mawun or the islets off Sekotong at sunrise or sunset. You receive a 60–90 second edited aerial film with licensed music plus the raw 4K clips within 5–7 days.

Aerial video earns its place where the landscape reveals itself in movement, and Lombok is full of reveals. A slow climb from behind the ridge at Mawun lifts over the grass to show the whole horseshoe bay at once. A low run across Sekotong’s shallows ends at a tiny sand islet with nothing on it. A tracking shot along the coast road follows the line of the hills down to the sea. Thirty minutes of flight, in the soft light at the start or end of the day, is enough for several of these moves, which we cut into a 60–90 second aerial film with licensed music and a grade that keeps the water true rather than neon. You also get the raw 4K clips, which matter for anyone building their own edit — a resort reel, a travel channel, a wedding film. The one thing we will not do is fly where the rules say no: Rinjani’s national park and the airport zone are handled strictly.

## How the shoot is planned

A Sekotong flight starts at a launch point on the coast before sunrise, so the drone is up as the light arrives. The first move is the opener — a low, slow push across flat water towards the islets, rising as they come into view. The second is an orbit around the smallest islet, wide enough to show the ring of turquoise around the sand. If you are in the film, a third move follows you walking or swimming, from directly overhead and then pulling back until you disappear into the scale of the sea. The last minutes of battery go on a high, static wide of the whole group of islands with the Lombok hills behind. Every move is flown two or three times for a clean take. On the south coast the same logic applies to Mawun’s ridge and bay.

## Timing

Aerial video wants low, soft light: the first forty minutes after sunrise or the last forty before sunset, when shadows give the hills shape and the sea is not a white glare. On Lombok, mornings usually win, because the dry-season trade wind from May to September builds through the day and makes slow, smooth moves harder. Sekotong is sheltered and often glassy at dawn. In the wet season, November to March, the air between storms is calm and the hills are green — beautiful footage — but rain cancels flights, so keep a spare morning. Rinjani is visible mostly in the dry season and at dawn, though filming inside the national park needs its own permit.

## What is included

The Drone video package in Lombok covers: A 60–90 second edited aerial film; The raw 4K clips from the flight; Location checked against no-fly zones before the day; Licensed music and colour grading; Delivery within 5–7 days. Nothing is added to the price after the shoot. ## Frequently asked questions

### Can you film Mount Rinjani from the air?

Only from outside the national park without a permit — for example from open fields at a distance, with the volcano as a backdrop. Flying inside Rinjani National Park requires permission from the park authority, which takes time and has its own fee. If Rinjani is central to your film, tell us early so we can advise on what is realistic.

### What can we do with the raw 4K clips?

Use them in your own edits: reels, a travel vlog, a resort or wedding video. Raw clips are ungraded straight from the drone, so they need colour work to match the edited film. They come in the same download as the 60–90 second aerial edit.

### Can you fly near the Mandalika circuit?

Not during race events, when the circuit and its surroundings are closed to drones, and the area also sits on the airport side of the south coast. Outside race weeks we check the current rules for your date. Most of our south-coast flights are further west, where the bays are quieter anyway.

### Is the boat to the Sekotong islands included?

No. Boat charters are paid locally and we tell you the realistic cost in advance. For the nearest islets the pilot can sometimes fly from the Lombok shore, within visual line of sight, with no boat at all. If the pilot crosses from Bali, the island-transfer add-on is $90.
